Your default CTA is the call to action used when a post does not have its own. Stories use it on the link sticker. Feed and carousel captions use it at the end of the copy when an explicit CTA is in play. Picking the right destination here pays off on every single post.

Where to set it
- Open Brand Kit.
- Scroll to the Call to action section.
- Fill in two fields:
- Default URL, where the link sticker (and any caption link) sends people.
- Default button text, the words on the sticker or the verb used in the caption (e.g. "Book now", "Shop the drop", "Get a quote").
- Save.
What makes a good default
The default should send people to the single most important page on your site. The right answer depends on your business:
- Service businesses: usually the booking page, not the homepage.
- Ecommerce: the shop landing, the bestseller, or the current promo, not the homepage.
- Lead gen: the contact or enquiry form, not the About page.
- Subscription products: the pricing or signup page.
Important Note
- Homepages are the wrong default for almost everyone. They give visitors more choices, which lowers the chance any single action gets taken.
Per post overrides
- Open the post detail page.
- Tap the CTA section.
- Swap the URL or button text.
- Save.
The override only applies to that post. Useful when you are running a one off campaign and want a few posts pointed at a different landing page.
Plan note
Starter plan posts do not include CTAs. Stories on Starter are caption only, and feed posts are written without a CTA tail. Growth and Pro both use your default CTA across all post types.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Does the button text need to match my brand voice?
Yes, and the system will tweak it to match your tone if needed. You set the literal words. - Can I A/B test two CTAs?
Use per post overrides on a few posts and compare reach in your Analytics dashboard. - What if I update my default mid week?
The next batch generated picks up the new default. Existing scheduled posts keep their original CTA unless you edit them.
