You have full control over a post right up until it publishes. After that, edits move to Facebook and Instagram themselves. Here is what is possible at each stage.

Before a post publishes
While a post is pending or scheduled, open it and tap Edit. In edit mode you can:
- Edit the Instagram caption and Facebook caption separately.
- Change the scheduled date and time.
- For stories, change the call to action sticker link and label.
Save changes to apply. You can also Request changes, get a New image, Regenerate the whole post, Approve, or Delete it so it does not publish.
Carousel posts
Carousels share a single caption across all slides, so editing the caption updates the whole carousel. The slides are reviewed together, use the arrows or swipe to step through every slide before approving. If one specific slide is off, use Regenerate on the post to refresh the whole carousel rather than editing slide by slide.
Quick Posts
Quick Posts go live based on the timing you set when uploading (next 30 minutes, or scheduled for later). While a Quick Post is still scheduled and has not published yet, you can edit the caption from My Posts just like any other post.
After a post publishes
Once a post is live on Facebook or Instagram, it can no longer be edited or deleted through PostaiLit. To change a published post, edit it directly on Facebook or Instagram.
Regenerating instead of editing
If you want a different take rather than a small tweak, use Regenerate for a fresh image and caption on the same topic, or Request changes to guide the AI with written feedback. Each uses one regeneration from your monthly allowance (Starter 3, Growth 5, Pro unlimited).
Important Note
- Deleting a post cannot be undone, and published posts cannot be deleted. Use delete only for pending or scheduled posts you do not want.
- Editing captions or scheduled time does not count as a regeneration.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I edit a single slide of a carousel?
No, the carousel is treated as one set. Use Regenerate to refresh the whole carousel if a slide is off. - What if I want to pull a post I already approved?
If it is still scheduled, open it and Delete. Once it publishes, remove it on Facebook or Instagram directly. - Do edits to captions count against my regenerations?
No, only Request changes, New image, or Regenerate count.
