PostaiLit adds hashtags to your captions automatically, based on your brand and your preferences. You do not have to write them for each post, but you can shape how they are used. Better yet, the system learns which hashtags actually work for you and prioritises them on future posts.

Where your hashtags come from

During setup, a set of brand hashtags is saved to your brand kit, covering your brand, your niche, and broader reach. The AI draws on these and adds relevant ones for each post topic.

Setting how many hashtags you want

In your Brand Kit you can set a hashtag preference:

PreferenceWhat you get
NoneNo hashtags on your posts
FewA small, focused set of hashtags
ManyA fuller set for maximum reach

Smart hashtag intelligence

Every published post has its hashtags tracked. As Meta returns engagement data (reach, likes, comments) for that post, the system computes a performance score for each hashtag. On future posts, your top performers get prioritised, while still mixing in fresh and untested ones for discovery.

You can see your top and underperforming hashtags on the Analytics page, and in your monthly report. Your brand kit also shows a small chip row above the hashtag input as a quick reminder of what is working.

Allow about 2 to 3 weeks of new posts to see meaningful performance data. Once data starts coming in, the smart prioritisation kicks in automatically.

Editing hashtags on a post

Hashtags are part of the caption. To change them on a specific post, open it, tap Edit, and adjust the Instagram or Facebook caption directly. Any new hashtags you add this way are also tracked for performance.

Important Note

  • A balanced hashtag mix beats stuffing. Aim for 10 to 15 hashtags per post, a few high traffic ones for reach, several niche ones for relevance, and a couple specific to your brand.
  • If you change your Brand Kit hashtag preference, the change applies to your next weekly batch.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can I disable hashtags entirely?
Yes, set your preference to None in Brand Kit and posts publish without any hashtags.
  2. Why are some hashtags in Instagram captions and not Facebook?
Facebook engagement on hashtags is lower, so the AI tunes hashtag counts per platform.
  3. Can I import my existing hashtag groups?
Paste them into your Brand Kit hashtag list, the system picks up performance from there.
